CB&W: Angles & Lines

Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge is ANGLES & LINES

Finally, a chance to use this photo. It was taken on a Sunday afternoon in Santiago de Cuba. The lady was decked out in her Sunday best, relaxing in a shaded alcove of a city park. At first I was attracted to her elegantly styled hair but then the symmetry of her pearls and polka dots caught my eye. Is a circle a line? My inner art teacher says it is: a straight, continuous and infinite line.

I’ve always liked this picture with its graphic contrast of lines, angles and curves. But it’s been an odd-ball piece which hadn’t meshed well with themes or stories. Until now. Thank you Cee!
