Bloganuary: Living Bold

Today’s Bloganuary prompt is What does it mean to live life boldly?

An Update: What was I thinking when I posted this originally ?

When I googled “Live boldly” I got a lot of hits on a quote from a Jojo Moyes book. “Live boldly, Push yourself, Never settle.” It’s par the course with all the other glib advice littering the internet. BE BOLD. BE ADVENTUROUS, DO YOUR OWN THING, GO WHERE NO ONE HAS GONE BEFORE.

But reality isnt’ like that, is it? What we choose to do is often influenced by how it affects others. Real life isn’t always about adventure and people don’t have to be bold all of the time.

And that’s O.K.

BECAUSE IT’S VERY TIRESOME, DON’T YOU THINK – TO READ EVERYTHING IN CAPS AND BOLD FONT?

  1. I’m with you on this. Boldness can be overrated – if you focus on always being bold you can lose sight of the impact you’re having on others. And I’m with you on bold fonts too, and even more so on upper case!

  2. Whenever my wife and I go to a movie, which isn’t often these days, her immediate comment when the titles roll is, “San serif, all caps.” Can’t that body of creative geniuses come up with anything different, or is that too bold for them?
