Walking along rue Sainte-Catherine, I saw what was surely the largest No Smoking sign in the Canada for an outdoor patio.
A pause and two eye blinks later, with help from someone who actually knew French, I realized my error.
Defense de passer (Do Not Enter) is not the same as Defense de fumer (Do Not Smoke).
Still, it’s an eye catching statement against smoking, don’t you think?
