Grey September

It’s September on the coast.

Summer is officially over and cooler and wetter weather is here.

Yesterday was bright but last night it started to rain and it hasn’t stopped. The forecast for the next four days is rain, rain and more rain.

Still.

Grey skies and grey seas are spectacular. The verdant tones of wood and grass against black rock are something to see. And everywhere, the sound and smell of the surf is heightened and enhanced by brooding skies.

    1. The coast here is very different from that in Singapore and the area. It smells different too, a function of the colder climate and ocean. Each has it’s appeal.

    1. I didn’t realise you were a displaced englishman Graham 🙂 I grew up reading novels set in Cornwal but I’ve never seen them in person. It’s good of you to make the visual connection for me.

    1. It can be. Last week, the waves were one storey high and I didn’t venture out. Today there were 60 km winds with 80 km gusts … by which time I’d headed in doors 😉
