It’s September on the coast.
Summer is officially over and cooler and wetter weather is here.
Yesterday was bright but last night it started to rain and it hasn’t stopped. The forecast for the next four days is rain, rain and more rain.
Still.
Grey skies and grey seas are spectacular. The verdant tones of wood and grass against black rock are something to see. And everywhere, the sound and smell of the surf is heightened and enhanced by brooding skies.

Stunning!
Not a sight I see except in images like yours. And your descriptions create such an ambience … I can smell & hear the sea & the rocks.

The coast here is very different from that in Singapore and the area. It smells different too, a function of the colder climate and ocean. Each has it’s appeal.

It is pretty dramatic, although all coast lines have their own unique appeal.

Nothing like waves crashing ashore under scudding gray skies. Reminds me of the Cornish coast, where I grew up

I didn’t realise you were a displaced englishman Graham π I grew up reading novels set in Cornwal but I’ve never seen them in person. It’s good of you to make the visual connection for me.

40 years displaced, but I still talk funny! Weatherwise, the west coast of Cornwall and the west coast of Vancouver Island have a good deal in common.

It can be. Last week, the waves were one storey high and I didn’t venture out. Today there were 60 km winds with 80 km gusts … by which time I’d headed in doors π

Gosh – the wild coast. Coincidentally, we have had a week of blustery weather on the other side of the Pacific, but a bit further south – of course.
