I lived in Sidney in the 60s when it was just plain old Sidney, and gathering just enough population to turn it from a village to a town (I think 2000 people was the tipping point). We moved when I was 14 and I fought my parents like crazy because I never wanted to leave. They actually ended up letting me stay with a neighbour for 5 months until the school year ended and summer was over. It’s such a glorious place…

I think it’s still plain old Sidney to most people 🙂 I only see it listed as such on maps & postcards.
