Friendly Friday: RE-IMAGINE ORANGE

Logo for Friendly Friday Photo Challenge hosted by TheSandyChronicles and SomethingToPonderAbout

Like everyone else, I’ve been home bound and boredom’s forced me to look for different creative outlets. Lately, I’ve been playing with photo editing and media creation tools. Learning new tools while manipulating old photos can while away serious chunks of time.  Familiarity does speed things up and after a few tries, my reworked photos have turned out better than I had imagined.

For this week’s Friendly Friday Photo Challenge I ask you to share a photo and post  where you  RE-IMAGINE ORANGE.

What does that mean?  It’s up to you.  It could be old photos re-worked to highlight the color orange.  Or  pictures of oranges set in unusual repose.  Or a composition with an  orange colored background. Even a post on your favorite episode of Orange is the New Black.

In this challenge, feel free to use your own photos or free stock images (with attribution of course.) When using stock images, I will look for your personalizing touch. A story. An anecdote. A re-imagined visual collage. Your imagination. Your call.

If you dabble in Lightroom, consider playing around with filters and colors. In my featured photo, I desaturated all the colors except orange.  The effect  is quite dramatic, don’t you think?

RE-IMAGINE what you’d normally post for Friendly Friday  and make it relevant to the color-fruit-title ORANGE.  I look forward to seeing your submission!

Remember to include a link to this post and a comment below,  so that I and others can find your response.

If you’re new to Friendly Friday, full instructions on how to participate can be found here.

This week’s challenge to RE-IMAGINE ORANGE goes up to Thursday, after which Amanda at StPA will post a new Friendly Friday challenge.

    1. Very nice Cee! When playing around with selective color, I’m always surprised when touches of orange shows up where you least expect it. Thanks for joining in.

  1. Hi Sandy! What an interesting and fun topic! And gorgeous photos🧡🧡 I did miss a few FFPC but managed last week and will definitely be here this week too!! Thank you for the ideas… I have never used any photo editing app but this gives a great reason to do so. Will share soon. Hope you and yours are doing well!

    1. It will be great to see your creations too! There are many tools out there, many of them free or free for a trial. The free ones that I’ve used are Adobe Spark, Nexmuse and PicMonkey. They are quick and easy to use. Have a look and have some fun!

      1. Thanks so much! I just posted my link on your page. I downloaded Lightroom on my phone and have just started tinkering with it…so much to find out. I will check out these ones that you mention as well!

  2. You can go out you just have to avoid crowds and do the other recommended things. I mean, imagine all the oranges, it’s easy if you try. 🟠

    1. That’s true Mike, depending on where you are. Here in Toronto it’s recommended that everyone ‘Stay At Home’ and do not go out except for essentials. Elsewhere it’s more heavily mandated and enforced.

Yes, Imagining oranges is easy if you try 😉

      1. Essentials vary, here the gun stores are open but the liquor stores are closed. If I was still an alcoholic I’d be in more of a panic than I am now if that’s possible. I went to the supermarket this morning and I’m still trying to calm down. 😬😬😬 #Orange

        1. Beer and liquor stores open here too. When the MO was confronted on why, she said “People have dependency issues.” Hmmm.
Gun stores? Well. I can’t comment on that.
          Take care Mike. ##Orange
